I think many folks believe that multiculturalism is the same as melting pot.. Of course it is not.. I guess the intent was honourable but now the result is problematic... I'm still of the mind that what is different is that Islam is so political and how it effects the secular world.. Beyond that maybe after 200 years we'll all be light brown... religion will become greatly irrelevant and it won't matter anymore and we'll all revel in our sameness :O) in the year 2525....
