@Comb - Mix
I'd like to hear the HP comments and I would like it even more if
HP finally is doing more in the commercial space. Why don't
they sell more Opteron workstations or why not introduce more
Business Desktops, which will come (I'm sure about this) with
AM2 with IGP (ATI/NVDA). Just this is the direction for the
next time - introduce more business SKUs with AM2 (all
segments) at (near) ALL Tier1/2, then add more workstations and
Server now and when Opteron F is launched (even more plat-
forms available then) and go further with DC in the notebook
sector too, which will come probably in mid Q3, when the new
ATI and Nvidia Designs are finally ready to ship in volume.
Beneath some irrational posters, I think that AMD could and
will gain on the volume side, as more and more Intel only
Tier1/2 come online and ramp and as more and more Business
SKUs appear on all markets. NGA is a very fine product, but
it can't stopp this progress, so I hope, that AMD could
ship all the needed volume at the new prices.

(EDIT for Buggi) CJ, re: Probably started [to turn the X2 knob to the right] at the end of Q1. Until that point, they were maximizing revenue with their capacity. As Fab36 started to come up, they could think about shifting product mix.

Yes and no. I think AMD shifted the production mix to the 20% larger die rev F first and foremost, and slightly shifting it to more DC at the same time. It looks like AMD needs Chartered's output to be able to turn that knob significantly.

Rink

OT: Buggi, re: WC soccer. Your poule is just waaay too easy. In sharp contrast we're in a poule with Argentina (too many good players to mention them all), Ivory Coast (remember Drogba?), and Serbia-Montenegro (whom we just narrowly defeated in our first match). It's quite nice to be able to conclude that despite the strong competition we still have a reasonable chance of getting through this round. You'll get through the first round with no sweat, even though your defence looks vulnerable.
