If anything, as today (and last week showed), the place to have puts is AMD. Intel stock has already been hammered. AMD is still relatively high.

There's one thing, and one thing only, driving prices higher: oil.
And there's one thing, and one thing only, dampening your standard of living: debt.

No, what's driving prices higher is deficit spending and the government debt that the Fed is forced to finance either through inflation or interest.

If it's true that INTC is being upgraded today, it could present a great opportunity to get such a hedge. Remember they are still owing WS a warning. Could come today, for all I know, but more likely by wednesday.

The rumor about the 16,000 layoffs said the 15th, Thursday. Intel certainly owes the market something either about Q2 or the "business review".
