If I understand correctly a remic now only has to have 50% of their assets in securities that are 80% backed by real estate. You could buy a remic and get A LOT of corporate or other non asset backed debt eh? When was that change made? Manybe everyone buying these things aren't getting all the asset backed fun they thought?
