I think the point the writer was trying to make was... I don't think so. First of all, that's not what he said. He said "Katrina did not get "stronger and stronger and stronger" as it came over the Gulf of Mexico" but that is incorrect. It was a category 2 when it crossed Florida and then rose to a 5 over the Gulf. If that's not getting "stronger" then I can't imagine what is. Secondly, if what you said was the point he was trying to make, then making it is useless because it doesn't contradict anything that he claims Gore claimed.
