A number of years ago I was watching television towards the front of the house when I kept hearing a banging sound.

I started walking from room to room trying to figure out the source.

It turned out to be a small bird.

It was sitting on top of the BBQ on the patio and looking into
the family room through the window. I had a soup tureen on the table, which had the figure of a small bird on the lid for use as the handle.

Well, evidently the little bird outside wanted to join the
porcelain pigeon and kept flying right into the window
from its perch on the BBQ. Kept cracking its head and stumbling back.

I moved the tureen AND the BBQ as the little winged creature
tried to regain its bearings. It was unsteady on its feet since it had taken quite a few knocks on the noggin before I realized what was happening. It recovered after a while so the ending was happy.
