la- that trip is enough to take the wanderlust out of anybody - well, except maybe you <g> i think it would satisfy my "sailing jones" for an entire summer. <g> here's tonight's report... it's almost over: couch sailors- the excitement and the trip is winding down. i think it's been more fun to follow the boyz vicariously than it would be to have been imprisoned with them for 45 daze in their floating cell eating cold tuna sandwiches. BTW, tom found out that they were NOT out of propane after all. there's a safety solenoid that was frozen shut. they bypassed it and can now have grilled tuna sandwiches. they're back in good spirits today. the boyz are now 50 miles SE of galveston. they made 56.74 nm since their earlier report this morning (11 hours). all sail, no motoring today. the average speed toward their destination was 5.16 knots. they're 162 nm ENE of port aransas. if they continue to make the same speed they'll arrive at 3:33 am CDT wednesday. i suspect they'll wait till dawn to go in to port aransas but i'm done second guessing these boyz. the entrance can be navigated at night and they'll still have a big moon and no overcast in the forecast so who knows what they'll do? they're magic, they're lucky, they're powerful and they can do anything they want. heck, it's somebody else's boat anyway. (sorry howard). the weather forecast for the rest of the trip and their arrival on wednesday is more of the same...
