When "keeping wealth" is done through tax breaks to the wealthy that create deficits, it means that they are shifting more of the debt burden to the middle class and poor. They owe less, the middle class and the poor owe more.

This goes over Tim's head because he doesn't think he has to pay the money back... he thinks the debt isn't real.

So you say what someone else believes, and slam that. Do you get volume discounts on your stawmen orders?

The debt is indeed real. It doesn't have to be paid off (because we borrow more to pay off the old debts, and there is no absolute reason while we have to have a zero debt) but each dollar borrowed does have to be paid back with interest.

But agreeing on that fact doesn't support your argument. If the debt is paid back from tax revenue the majority of that revenue comes from the rich or near rich, almost none of it comes from the poor. Even if it was paid back entirely from taxes on the poor or near poor, the federal government would be doing the taking, not rich private citizens.
