It's inflation worries and all that entails. All that Fed jawboning last week was because they get early access to the data-- and today, we find the core PPI up more than expected, and we'll probably see the core CPI up more than expected as well.

re: even if we dip into the teens

me too. I am, personally, buying when it goes down and selling on the way up and so far it worked well for me. I am going to continue buying both amd and intel on their merry way to single digits.

Mag, Re: LTCM2 anyone?>

LOL. Could be but it might just be investors fears of last Fed change in '87.

Time for a shot from 1/2 court. Bernanke doesn't need to prove he's tough and smart. He pauses. A little better'n 50% probability, IMO, as opposed to current futures indicating around 80% for another increase next meeting.

80% of Greenspam's increases went up, pause, down.(Overshoot) IMO 50% or more of Bernanke's up, pauses will be followed by an up.

IMO, that's a whole lot better way to run the show.

And I think we can look forward to less *GOOSING* of the money supply as well. Another positive, IMO, as I'm a believer in Feldstein's theory of inflation.
