Feingold can't win. Too liberal and Jewish. He could try to become senate majority leader though in a new congress. Reid might be beatable.

I do want straight shooters representing us in government, whether or not they agree with me on key issues. My support is reserved for representatives who are 1) straight shooters and 2) represent my views. Both criteria must be met simultaneously and with no compromise on number 1. I would consider supporting someone who represents my views on key issues but not on marginal issues.

I disagree with the positions Feingold has taken on some key issues. For example, he opposed the war in Iraq. Ok, but the war with Saddam was fought anyway and is over now, so that position is irrelevant to a current campaign for office. He has argued to have a rapid withdrawal of troops from Iraq in the near future. However, the military operations subsequent to the fall of the Bathist regime are now at a very advanced state. I don't see how he has dealt with the very drastic consequences of pulling troups out prior to achieving successive measures of stability in the region.

I would agree with a strategy for troup withdrawal that is in consideration of improving circumstances in the region. I would like to see the Administration address some such contingent plan, whether it is profered by Democrats, Republicans or as a non-partisan group effort. Input from the military commanders would be essential for such an endeavor, of course.
