I guess it will depend on the Fab size :-) I would estimate combined annual shipments of laptops and desktops to be around 300mm units. If I assume 512MB as the average amount of nand flash for rapid boot, and if there is 100% implementation starting next year, we are talking about 150PB of nand flash and that amounts to about 7-8% of total nand flash output as projected for next year.

I'll take your word for it (estimates and calculations, though 200mm is the number I've seen), so since flash output is expect to increase by 150-200% per year, it won't take the industry more than a month or two to meet this new demand, unless the capacity grows as well.
