I haven't come across any personal animosity toward Americans the last five years, in travels through 10-15 countries scattered around. America has a strong cultural impact apart from our politicians of the day, and many folks abroad distinguish between politicians and ordinary people. I have met some who were shocked at broad American attacks against everyone in countries that had a policy disagreement with the US. More perplexed than angry, and fixable if the average American can put aside the "with us or agin us, pardner" stereotype that obsessed so many until now.
