The Tigers are beautiful ... I like how Leyland, Van Slyke, and Slaught have molded that team. I remember when everyone thought "Pudge" was crazy for leaving the Marlins to go to Detroit. Granderson's from Blue Island, a dump south of Chicago. What a success story. Leyland is a magician. It seems like only yesterday that Leyland, Van Slyke, Drabek, Bonilla, and Bonds were together at Three Rivers Stadium. That crazy stadium doesn't even exist anymore. I have a beautiful shot of downtown Pittsburgh and Three Rivers Stadium the night of the first Steeler Super Bowl triumph. The US Steel Building has lights spelling "STEELERS." Those were the days. Clemente and Stargell have passed away. /john
