Wrong. Customers will buy anything to make them a buck. All of them want to be part of CMW too.

Are you implying that the only way the OEMs can be part of CMW
is by buying P4s in quantities desired by INTC???? It would seem that OEMs have faced this type of strong arming before and is why it is in their interest to have healthy competition...in the CPU mkt

The back to school crowd wants to surf, write and IM. You can get a dynamite Intel Pentium system to do that. The price will not be the issue.

They want to drive to the beach, to campus, and back home. Mom and dad's used Oldsmobile can do that. It's cool, and miles/gallon is as meaningless as MIPS/watt.

Yeah, it's the fan noise and reliability issues that will drive buyers away from P4, not price.
