The back to school crowd wants to surf, write and IM. You can get a dynamite Intel Pentium system to do that. The price will not be the issue. They want to drive to the beach, to campus, and back home. Mom and dad's used Oldsmobile can do that. It's cool, and miles/gallon is as meaningless as MIPS/watt.
