Joe: "AMD will have a much tougher competitor in the near future." I agree of course. What I meant by fiasco was simply that Intel can read the news as well as everyone else. They must have seen that many people have asked the questions : - why all the cloak and dagger on Conroe benchmarking ? - especially with figures like 180% etc. ? - were those cherry picked CPUs , i.e. not likely to be seen in the wild? - forcing benchmarks to be run as "cache-bound" ? ( a cheap trick imo ) So why didn't they let someone look "inside the box" .. so to speak ! or.. "What are they trying to hide" is my overall impression !
