The Kyoto treaty is flawed in that some countries are exempt from its rules.....I agree with that.

But we could lead the way by raising our gas mpg requirements.......do you not see the demand these new cars would have worldwide? Unfortunately, this administration is full of oil people and have no ideas for extricating ourselves from the tap of ME reserves. And the Japanese carmakers are now eating the Big 3's lunch, similar to what happened in the 1970's.......each time they were focused on short-term thinking and only making a buck by selling big cars.

In the end, it killed them each time, as short-term thinking will also endanger the planet if we do not act to at least acknowledge that there is a problem.
