Did you see the PBS special earlier in the year? Man it was great to relive those days with him. I saw him in NY at the Bitter End when he was strictly a folksinger. I knew the gal who was on the cover of Freewheeling Bob Dylan album. The lyrics always seemed divinely inspired to me and the music was grand and his voice was great to those of us who love him. One interesting tidbit from the show. When he returned to Hibbing after the successful trip to find and visit woody gutherie, his friends wanted to know about his trip. He told them he had become a rock star using the name Bobby Vee. They believed him. All sorts of other made up stuff about his childhood appear as well. He was a true storyteller. Like elroy and his revisionist take on the israelis and arabs.
