My guess is that if Lieberman is elected as an independent, he will follow the lead of Jeffords, who is technically an independent, and vote with the Democrats when it comes times to organize the Senate. I will not speak well for the Democratic Party if it drives out the man that was its vice presidential candidate only six years ago. Another potentially polarizing event. I personally feel that a bit of diversity in both parties is a good thing.
