I wouldn't have a problem with term limits on judges. Or, maybe an age limit - out at 70 or so.

I have witnessed some of the older federal judges sleeping through the trial. Not too pleasant if your in the lawsuit.

Many government organizations and companies mandate a retirement at age 70.

That said, someone who makes bagels for the last 6-10 years, does not a quality judge make. Meeting a payroll is irrelevant to a judge who is guaranteed a payday every two weeks.

I recognize that a counter argument is that many, many people are as capable at 70 as they were at 55 or 60. In our judicial system they ALL need to be as capable.

Politicians are a classic example of incompetent performance at an older age. The Congress is full of them. Without their staff, they would be relegated to their garden patch.
