I think you are confused. What do you expect to happen to all the 939 parts already in the channel? Do you not expect the price to drop on those?

AMD can make all the AM2 parts in the world with 2 x 256 L2 cache and I'll still be able to buy an old 939 part with 2 x 512 or 2 x 1MB L2 cache.

How do you expect the old 3800+ to sell for more than $200 when the new 3800+ is selling for $160?
