“It is clear to me that they (Democrats) have to come out in opposition to the war,” Zogby said. “Not only is that what the overwhelming majority of Democrats want, that’s what a majority of Americans want. They want an end to the war. They want an exit strategy. For the Democrats, I don’t think the slogan ‘Had enough?’ is going to be enough.”

gosh, tell me again where I got this erroneous idea that the Dems were for cut and run from Iraq?

The way the house has been gerrymandered over the long period of republican control makes a big swing very hard to imagine. Theoretically the overall House vote could be 52-48 and that might only lead to a Tie in seats. I am guessing at the numbers but knowing whats considered safe seats and what are being contested leads one to that conclusion. If that does occur, we really need to address House districts as well as Electoral college with a constitutional amendment to correct the anti-democratic aspects of both. The Founders are Gods to me but in reality they are only human and the way things have evolved forces us to reconsider the electoral situation.
