"To say they should be "protected" from any criticism of their actions is indefensible. "

Who said they were protected from criticism? And what type of criticism? Criticizing their statements is one thing. Claiming that their husbands were fixing to divorce them before they died and their widows are happy about their deaths is quite another.

Their comments and appearances criticizing the current administration while in the public forum of talk shows and news media. To say they should be "protected" from any criticism of their actions is indefensible.

I don't believe anyone has suggested--I certainly haven't-- that statements critical of the administration are immune to response. But you and the other crackpots here do not seem to know the difference between substantive response and a personal one. You even equate a Coulter rant with a jersey girl "rant," which further indicates you don't know the difference. Coulter called them witches and harpies and suggested maybe their husbands were going to divorce them. You can defend your right to say anything about anyone anytime on 1st amendment grounds. But that doesn't make it right or true and certainly not civil. The fact thay you "defend" your "right" to be coarsely vicious(because saying something substantive just doesn't sell books, ya know) merely indicates the poverty of your arguments on the issues.
