Windows virtualized on a Mac. The desktop for Microsoft Windows XP seen running in a virtual machine within Mac OS X, using Parallels Desktop.

ITS here has been trying out Parellels with an aim of putting it on all of the office computers, this will allow a single disk image/standardized backup etc for all of the computers and allegedly make things easier for them

You bet. Here is what I do:

Go User > Library and make a copy of the Parallels folder. Leave this "Parallels copy" folder right where it is, in the Library.

Should my Windows side get hosed for any reason, I'll simply trash the said original Parallels folder, re-name the copy as "Parallels" and viola, ready to rock & roll again, as if nothing ever happened.

Only on a Mac. :-)

He got the price right. The official price is 79.99. It's on sale for 49.99 until July 15.

The price was 49.99 when it was first announced but was increased when they integrated the compressor.
