In the beginning, the US did not "receive" a "program" "offered". According to the times thats what started it all "in his mind". This was not an attack, rather a refusal to entertain.

I have no doubt that history will also relate that the war on terror was begun in UBL/OBLs mind due to some action by Jimmy C. in regards to Iranq or even earlier.

It seems to me that our involvement consisted of a long, drawn out process. The county of Vietnam and its people were victims of a Colonialistic and then a broader anti-Communistic effort.

The only reason I knew that our involvement started with Truman was because of an argument I had with my sister years ago. She insisted that it was Republicans that have started most wars. I did some research and came to a different conclusion.
