Bush already said that he will not leave Iraq during his reign. He will leave the mess for future presidents to clean up. We are almost standing alone in Iraq. The coalition has shrunk to a handful of nations. And the coalition has been all along in real terms the US and UK anyway.

You have to realize that a turning point means that Bush will stay the course. The vision is to take over Iraq and the middle east. The plan is to keep stumbling towards that goal regardless of the carnage it produces. It's as if the carnage itself is part of the plan, right from the first minute of Shock and Awe to the current day civil war amongst the Iraqis themselves. It's as if the plan has been to foster internal strife. A sort of "self cleansing" operation.

Like taking that first errant stumble down a long stairway. See you at the bottom.
