One of Stewart's favorite bits is to show a video clip of an unbelievably stupid statement from a politician and make faces in response; statements that are so egregious that no verbal response is necessary.

He also loves to show conflicting statements back-to-back to illustrate hypocrisy.

He leans left, of course, but does not hesitate to skewer hypocrisy and stupidity from all points on the political spectrum and the Traditional Media. Actually, he probably makes fun of our sorry media more than he does politicians, especially when interviewing his ridiculous "senior correspondents".
