I just got through watching a very inspirational, funny and dramatic movie called The World's Fastest Indian. Burt Munro bought an Indian Scout in 1920. 47 years later he broke the world's land speed record for 1000 cc and under motorcycles with that very same Indian Scout. He engineered and manufactured his own parts to replace those that had worn out.....the bike was put together with putty and bailing wire.....and shaved the tread off the tires to minimize friction.
