They may not for homeowner insurance - this was for rental property on policies I have had for a long time now. Insurance co paid servpro for me. One source of the mold was a leaking roof. The other source was a busted water heater where the unit was not properly dried in the initial cleanup by their recommended crew. This latest mold cleanup by servpro was 12K. Also a renter had a stove fire that burned up the majority of the rental units kitchen - that cost them 14K. This year the insurance co lost money on insuring my rental units. I had to shell out a 500 deductible each time.
