The Repubs have begun their dishonest smear + fear campaign again.

Star extremist spokeswoman Anne Coulter is smearing 35 year veteran Marine John Murtha, calling him a "coward". The rightwing is trying to misrepresent Murtha and Kerry's plans and mock them with silly stunt votes before the people can hear what they are. And 57% of the country now wants the war to end ASAP, agreeing with Kerry and Murtha, so of course the rightwing is not representing the people on this at all.

>>The GOP is back to its old Rove tricks, attacking Democrats as unpatriotic cowards.<<

CSFO -

Good article. Thanks for posting it.

I was just thinking the other day that it would be great if Karl Rove could apply his genius for good instead of evil. Like maybe he could dream up a way to make muslims think the Islamic terrorists and fanatics are the real problem. Then he would really be performing a service.

I think an effective Public Relations campaign stands a better chance of solving this problem than the military approach does.

At last we know what Republicans mean when they talk about a "plan for victory" in Iraq. They still have no real plan to achieve victory in Iraq itself, where civil conflict worsens, casualties continually rise, and even the elimination of the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq seems unlikely to reduce the carnage

The leaders of Democratic party seem remarkably unaware of how they are projecting themselves as rooting for an American defeat in Iraq. And that isn't some smear dreamt up by Karl Rove, it's just how their own words sound to most Americans.

A week ago, al Zarqawi was killed. The US military is beaming, Iraqis are dancing in the streets, and the GOP has a new wind in its back. The Democrats, for whom our inability to get Zarqawi was proof that we were losing in Iraq, are now hastening to assure us that Zarqawi's death didn't matter, we're still losing.
