Puts barriers in the way of less than righteous police and judges. How? How does yelling "police" and knocking provide a more useful barrier than simply yelling "police"? How does it matter? How will that enable or hamper bad cops and judges? How? I understand how getting a warrant is a barrier. And I understand how the exclusionary rule is a barrier. And I understand how facilitating amuck police is not good. I don't understand how knocking in addition to yelling is a barrier. Please isolate for me the salient factor in there.
