I recall it as a giant pissing match. At one point, the government withdrew money from our G fund in the Thrift Savings Plan in order to keep people working. That amounted to theft, in my opinion, and heads should have rolled. It didn't matter to me that they restored the money they stole from us in order to pay us. It wasn't their money. I don't think you could get away with that in the private sector, although I've heard some horror stories.
