Superior company under investigation

(6/15/2006) By Corinne Hautala An investigation might force a Superior Company to close their doors before they open. The Telesis Technology Corporation, a Florida–based company, planned to expand their business and even move their headquarters to Superior.

But all that is on hold after the President of the Company informed officials in Superior that his business is under federal investigation.

Two years ago, Superior announced that Telesis Technology Corporation, an Aerospace Parts company, would be moving to town. It looked like it would be a good fit. The Company bought the entire business park on the eastside of town. That included a building that was already built, which they were getting ready to move into. Plus they started to move dirt to continue building on the 30 acres of land.

“Everything looks good until we get a phone call last week that there is a problem. The call came from the President of Telesis Technology Corporation. He explained the company was under a federal investigation. We do not know what they are looking for; the reason is sealed. For whatever the reason though, his company’s expansion to the town would be delayed. People were working and now no longer any activity at the building. The company’s president assured members on Superiors Economic Development Board that the investigation was nothing to worry about. He thinks he is just being harassed. But some board members do not know if they should believe that,” said Economic Development Board member Bill Blauvelt.

“Many say he is still coming but I have seen enough to show me that is not going to happen,” said Economic Development Board member Shannon McCord.

Shannon McCord says most Superior residents are disappointed and doubtful that the business will open.

“When you see smoke and there is a lot of smoke here there is usually fire,” said McCord.

Bill is disappointed as well, but hopes things will turn around.

“Love to have a call saying people are back to work,” said Blauvelt.

But the biggest question around town is not if Telesis Technology will continue construction.

“We would like to know what he is accused of.”

We tried numerous times to contact the President of Telesis Technology for a comment. He did not return any of our calls.

Some Superior residents are worried that if they do not move in, the property will be tied up in legal issues - not allowing them to re-sell it any time soon.
