38 kids. My, my, my. There will be between 30 and 40 on Malila's floor in the dorm.

I love my town. The longest part of the ceremony was giving out the scholarships. The business community, service organizations, the clinic and the bank, the Hog Farm, a group of quilters who formed to give out scholarships, etc. I think they must have given out over 50K.

3 kids headed for UC; Cal, Santa Cruz, and Merced. The salutorians are headed off to Reed and UOP. 2 or 3 going to Humboldt State, up where James Calladine lives. They may all be headed into nursing,. One, for sure is; I had her brother on my little league team his rookie year, so I knew her story. Born with a messed up heart (can't remember for sure, but it may have ben Tetralogy of Fallot :>). Anyway, they were thinking she might make it to her second birthday :>)
She's got a "zipper" (big long scar) on her chest, but she's headed off to college :>)
