Yes. Article one, Section 10 of the Constitution of the United Staes of America.

"No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

And as Thomas Jefferson said:

"I deny the power of the general government to making paper money, or anything else a legal tender."

Now the assertion about money came up in a speech I posted. I am certainly not obligated to defend every detail in opinions voiced by another, nor am I obligated to agree with everything asserted by another.

My reason for posting was to generalize the known fact that governments are all criminal in terms of having removed a value basis for their coinage and their paper. This includes Canada just as much as any other country.

Is 371 1/4 grains of silver worth a dollar??
