Totally wrong. The Constitution doesn't say anything about citizens being able to have military weapons, just to "bear arms" which meant at the time a flintlock rifle or two for hunting and/or self defense.

Obviously the technology of weapons has changed drastically since then, and no one in the US needs machine-guns, banana clips, cop-killer bullets, bazookas or even fully automatic rifles for hunting or self defense. Unless, of course everyone has them, then everyonme will need them, which is exactly what the greedy, immoral, racist gun industry wants.

The National Guard fulfills the state militia right so that goal of the framers is taken care of.

Ordinary citizens who acquire military arms these days can only be seen as paranoids, nut cases or possibly dangerous sociopaths. There is no excuse for any Amrican to own lethal military hardware. This is just a ploy by the arms industry to sell more and more expensive weaponry. It also would get a lot of cops killed. We do not want to live in a country where our cops are outgunned by private citizens.
