Rove's old tricks won't work again, at least not on anyone besides their diehard dittohead base. Same with the smears. Kerry is pretty much smear-proof now (though he paid a steep price for his immunity) and Murtha is very difficult to smear as well. Even Pelosi and Hillary are getting hard to smear. Plus, people know damn well the rightwing congress is corrupt, the COulter types are disgusting liars, Cheney is a fat cat creep and Bush blew it in Iraq and lied about it. So they're not going to buy new lipstick on that pig. As proof, Bush's approvals only went up 1% after killing Zarqawi. I see Bush's supporting topping out at about 36%, but if things start going bad again they could sink into the 20's.
