"The real pity is that fate wasted a chance for a real global change on them." This is the real tragedy of the Bush admin. In 9/11, they were handed an even that could have bonded the world to us, left us with such "soft power" that we could have totally reshaped the world order to virtually eliminate terrorism, if handled properly. Even the FRENCH burst out with "we are ALL Americans now!". Invading Iraq, Bush squandered this marvelous opportunity. You have to wonder how a Kennedy, Clinton or Gore would have handled it...
