Bush's occupation has made the Middle East twice as dangerous, radical and anti-American. It's also jacked up oil prices by about 25%. In case you hadn't noticed.

Judge not on Bush-cheney's tough talk rhetoric/spin, but on results. Results are the only thing that matters. And you can see the results clearly. This is the worst blunder since Vietnam. And the longer we stay the most costly it gets.

Speaking of Vietnam, in 1965 LBJ was urged to stop the war by McNamara because it was unwinnable no matter how many troops we put in there. But LBJ was too arrogant and proud to accept "losing" and didn't want to be seen as "cutting and running". As a result, some 40,000 additional US troops were killed and some 200,000 more wounded. Plus huge-huge expense to the US taxpayers. All for a big nothing. (Footnote, LBJ like CHeney was in deep with Halliburton's corruption (Brown + Root, the biggest profiteer of the two wars)

Iran and Syria may be potential threats, but they were much lesser threats before Bush blundered into Iraq instead of using the post 9-11 goodwill to heal wounds. Remember, Iran was actually helping us after 9-11. At least to a degree. Then came Bush's stupid "axis of evil" speech, then the invasion and occupation, then "bring it on!" and three years later look what a quagmire we're in. Very similar to Vietnam. AN unwinnable civil war situation where we don't even know who the enemy is. As a result, our military is greatly weakened which plays right into any enemy's hands, including AL Qaida which loves us being in Iraq.
