You know Bush has us in a quagmire and won't change purely for reasons of corrupt pride and arrogance. The same type attitude LBJ had in the mid 60's when his advisors told him we couldn't win militarily, but LBJ refused to admit any mistakes and stayed the source. Then ditto Nixon. Eight years later, 55,000 Americans were dead and some 250,000 wounded. Plus our military and national budget were decimated. But Halliburton/KBR won, didn't they? They reap the profits. The longer we stay the more they make.

And we had five times as many troops in Vietnam, so it's not even a matter of how many troops we have. (Hear that, McCain?)

The government of democratic Iraq has asked Bush for a time table for withdrawal.

Bush said when Iraqis stand up we will stand down. All the Iraqis want to know is when are we standing down.

Six months ought to be long enough to accomplish that. I don't know what we're going to do with all those military bases we just spent billions on...and the world's largest embassy. Perhaps we can rent office space in the embassy?

What's another billion dollars? While the flames are high keep on shoveling the money into the fire.
