As far as I am concerned, Bush and the Ayatollah's are cut from the same cloth...they're just swen into different suits...as for Cheney, he is more evil than both. But all this is besides the point.

Whether you trust Bush or Khamanei is not the issue. Trust is irrelevant. There was never any trust between US and Soviet Union either, but that did not stop them from negotiating solutions. So the fundamental issue is do you believe in a diplomatic solution or are you just not willing to have *any* solutions with this regime?

It is clear that over the past decade or so Iran has been seeking a solution with US and it is equally clear that the Cheney administration does not want a solution with them but wants a regime change. Personally, I want a regime change in Iran too...I just don't think it is any of USA's business what kind of regime is in charge in Iran or anywhere else. If the people in those countries do not want the regime, they should change it. The rest of the world has no right to support one side or the other. It is an internal matter.

Now back to my question, which you avoided. What exactly do wish Iran to have had done over the past 5 years to achieve normalized relations?
