Auto insurers. A saturated slow growth business with possible rampant underpricing. Still, many of these companies are profitable, and I am hoping they will continue to be so.

I'll take a few shares of Progressive at current price. I like the price/book and p/sales. In past, this company has been the industry leader in its innovative practices. Not sure about now though.

Fwiw, I have shares of the following whose business is primarily/significantly auto insurance:

I'll up my few shares of Florida auto insurer TCHC a little.

Guidance for fiscal year 2007 is $4.50/sh. Stock goes for $21.25.

I just do not trust management. OTOH, they have delivered on their outlooked numbers, and when their view changes, they seem to be prompt in communicating that. (i.e. they changed their earnings estimates after Katrina hit)
