Our two soldiers were apparently killed by the captors in iraq. While listening to the disturbing news, i was reading an article in the newspaper talking about the indictment of three air cav soldiers who let some iraqi prisoners go, so that they could hunt them down. Our boys would have been killed anyway in iraq, i am certain, but we still cant allow this to happen on our side. Same with torture. The left points out and rightfully so that once allowed there will be abuses. My answer is to do whatever we can to prevent those abuses because as you point out in extreme cases torture will be needed. What really galls me on the left is their self righteous posture. On the right there are folks like you and me who regret the need for torture but there are others who will take advantage and still others that will make excuses for even the most clear of abuses.
