The White House knew Saddam had no WMD. They were informed by the CIA six months before the invasion. The CIA finally got reliable intel inside Saddam's inner circle. The CIA was told WMD didn't matter, that now it was about regime change. In other words, Bushies lied to all of us and the UN and congress. So why did Bushies really invade Iraq the way they did? They still have not told us. But I'll bet if they ever told us the truth, we'd want to strangle them because the reasons are likely to be very selfish, very reckless, nothing to do with terrorism or national defense and only benefitting their corporate cronies in the oil, war and weapons business.

No I am not changing the goal posts. You are. I have stated clearly that France and germany did not believe Bush when he said that Saddam had WMDs. To prove their point they succeeded in persuading the UNSc to send in the inspectors to rebut the US lie.
