Saddam was cooperating with the weapons inspectors. Finally.
Toward the end he was even letting them into his palaces.

Bush kicked the weapons inspectors out anyway. He wanted to invade, not have to present evidence of WMD knowing there probably wasn't any. Proof that the White House knew there were no WMD has recently come out.

Bottomline, Bush-Cheney lied to us and lied to congress too. It is eerily similar to what LBJ did to fake the rationale for escalating the Vietnam War.

So why did Bush-Cheney really want to invade? We are still waiting for the truth on that. But it definitely has something to do with oil and the 10+ billion Halliburton would make off the invasion.

If you know that there are WMD, then you don't need any inspectors to tell you that. Inspectors are only needed if there is uncertainty.
