"nobody died..."

Everyone dies as a positive and purposeful outcome of life. There should be some concern about people dieing but politicizing death is a corrupt practice. Arguments about body count are meaningless. If death is caused by injustice it does not matter whether it is 1 or 1 billion, it is equally wrong.

There are many valid questions we could be asking about the deaths of our fellows and even our own mortality.

For example: Is the death a result of injustice? When we ask this question, we weigh the intentional and unfair imposition of suffering and loss created by one onto another. In our society we view it as fair practice when we act in self defense, in the best interests of nation, or when intervening in opposition to some entity who is a perpetrator of injustice. None of which excuses injustice by self or by another.

The costs to society brought on by corruption should be measured by the state of society in the wake of that corruption. We should ask whether or not society has been strengthened, not only in substance but in the character needed to sustain it, and as needed to move society forward in the progressive endeavors of each generation.
