My guys just received a 1.85 raise as of June 1. Of that they were left with .60 to go to their check, the rest was absorbed by the union. Well that isn't even accurate as their working dues are 1.4% of their total package which is 41.85 per hour so they actually only ended up with .47 on their check. Absolutely obscene. Over 17 dollars per hour of their package goes directly to the union either pre-tax or post tax. It's a racket like no other.

As I said at our last negotiation, and this comment put the state president into a screaming, swearing tipping over table rage, there are 3 people here negotiating, employers who want to remain a viable business entity, employees who want to get as much of a raise as they can, and the union which is here to suck as much out of both of us as they can. After he calmed I told him the reason that comment sent him so over the edge is because he knew it was true and didn't want his guys to realize the validity of the statement at which time he went berserk again:)

Less then a year and I have to go through that crap again:(

Peter, I can see where a relationship between the labor union, and management would benefit both entities. After all, they are both greedy, management wants cheap labor, and the unions want the workers' money. By working together they can screw the workers from both ends.
