There would have to be major mindset change for that to happen.I was listening to the radio and there was a segment about Ford expanding operations in Mexico. A spokesperson for Ford mentioned that they are considering using Mexico to build small cars. The lower labor costs would make inexpensive cars more practical to if built there. So even at Ford, who sometimes shows a glimmer of getting a clue, still uses the equation small car == cheap. By extension, they still view larger cars as the only ones with any margin. So there is little hope that they will catch high gas mileage fever any time soon...
