Look for a new documentary featuring Douglas Coupland called Souvenir of Canada. I saw it last year at a film festival, but believe it is out in theatres and on DVD now.

Coupland found a '50s suburban house about to be torn down and filled it with classic Canadian memorabilia from the '50s and '60s as an art installation, then spun two books and this documentary out of it.

The film is nothing earth-shattering, but mildly amusing in the way Coupland usually is, and functions very well as a nostalgia fest.

I have one more confession -- although I have lived in Canada for 50 years I have never skated. (In my defense, I did grow up in Victoria.)
