"It's not the Democrats who are the losers. It's the American people who are the losers."

It may be both. For several years I have been encouraging liberals to sponsor and engage in principled and reasoned discourse to promote positive change and renewal ... I'm still waiting.

It wasn't too many years ago that the Democratic party was represented by the strongest constituency for liberal movement that has ever been established on the face of the Earth. Liberal change and innovation seemed status quo and without a bottom.

The positive energy for social movement began to erode during the Clinton administration, and as it did the liberal consciousness turned from left wing movements to attacking the conservative establishments that were gaining in stature. Left wing innovation in this decade is unheard of, while politicos cling desperately to obsolete agendas and decaying platforms.

The current left wing is a diminishing shadow of its former self. The remaining old guard of the left wing bolster their egos with rallying anti-Bush rants, then cheer as they drive from their midst any and all who are not willing to bash, blame, and dissemble American order and effort, all in the name of Bush hatred, all the while claiming the voters will be backing Democrats on the next opportunity. I ask you where these supporters will come from. Not from among you, and not from among those you have been lashing for so long.

What you don't ever seem to appreciate is that people are bound by their misery only for the moment, in the long run, it is a regard for a community of common goodness that bring people to stand together in resolute cause.

The inability of the Democrats to say NO to Bush on the war unfortunately reflects the fact that many of them support this brutal war of aggression and conquest.

The idea that everything will be hunky dory if the Bushies are ousted is extremely naive. But it would at least be a step in the right direction.
