Americans DO realize (I think, I hope) that any 'empire building' going on is for the personal profit of a tiny, tiny number of Americans, Saudis (bin ladens included), Brits, etc. This isn't any kind of 'empire building' for the sake of all Americans or even for the country. People are not THAT stupid...usually. This is why Republicans have to lie, cheat, steal and lie some more because their agenda is so dangerous and misery-creating for the majority of Americans. Republicans are anti-most-Americans so they keep selling a bill of gays/guns/gods/terrorists/nukes IN ORDER TO HIDE what they're really doing: Destroying the US of A in order to steal from it for their own personal profit. They're coming pretty darn close with a 45% increase in the national debt 50% financed by furriners and the destruction of any sense of decency, morality and goodwill on the part of the country as a whole.
